I have successfully removed the rear plate mounting bolts.
VICTORY IS MINE!!!
They are now soaking in WD-40, and will be reinstalled along with the new plate by the end of the day.
Then, I get to drill holes in the car. And then, finally,
DRIVE IT!
I'm excited.

Excuse me!! I think a vice-grips and a relative were involved.
This is true. Both a vise grip and a relative were instrumental in removal of bolts. I was so excited at the time I overlooked this vital fact.
